Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS) is 53rd Dai-al-Mutlaq (Dai, or Unrestricted Missionary) of the Dawoodi Bohras and the second son of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (AQ) 52nd Dai-al-Mutlaq. He was one of the four Omara (Rectors) of Al Jamea-tus-Saifiyah in the term of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (AQ).
Birth of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS)
Syedna Aaliqadr Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS was born on 23rd of Ramadan al-Moazzam 1365 H [Lailatul Qadr] (20th August 1946, Tuesday) in Surat. When Syedna Taher Saifuddin AQ learned about it, he wrote a note naming him “Aali Qadr Mufaddal”.The gematric value (adad) of “Aali Qadr Mufaddal” in Arabic is 1365 which is the Islamic Hijri calendar year of his birth.

During the era of Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA), as a child, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS) began the recitation of the Quran in Saifee Villa, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA had taken the misaq of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS.

On 27th Zilqaa’dil Haraam 1385H (17th March 1966), on eve of Milad majlis of Muqaddas Syedna Taher Saifuddin AQ, he was granted the laqab ‘Saifuddin’ and the title of SDT [Seqato Dawaat-e-Taiyebiyah]
Nikah (Marriage)
Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (AQ) solemnized the nikah of Syedna TUS with the daughter of Ameer-ul-Jamea Syedi Yusuf bhaisaheb Najmuddin, Jawaharatus Sharaf baisaheba, at Evan al-Jamea in Surat, in 1388H during the Imtehan of Al-Jamea-Tus-Saifiyah in Shabaan. Marriage (Shaadi) was held on 23rd Shawwal 1389 (1st January 1970, Thursday) in Surat.
Historical visit and event
In 1390H, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS was made Ameer-ul-Hajj, with a large and important personages in his entourage. After Hajj he went to Karbala, Shaam, Misr and Yemen.
The trip of Yemen was historic. Syedna TUS laid the foundation for the construction of mausoleum (roza) of Syedna Hatim RA in this trip. Returning from Hajj and Yemen in 1391H, he received a grand reception at the airport, presided over by Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin AQ. During the subsequent majlis and programmes, Syedna AQ bestowed the title “Aqeeq-ul-Yemen” upon Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS. Earlier, in 1381H, Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA had granted the title “Mansur-ul-Yemen” to Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA.
Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA restored the Al Jame al Anwar masjid in Misr to its original form. UNESCO had declared this restoration unachievable, but Syedna Burhanuddin RA proved otherwise, accomplishing the task despite the significant challenges involved. His remarkable efforts returned the masjid to its former glory, defying expectations and showcasing his dedication and capability. But its nothing when it comes to Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA. He restored the masjid to its glory in just 28 months. And that was only because of the prayer of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA and efforts of his Successor (mansus), Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS himself worked and also instructed for the cleaning of Jame Anwar. It was in a very bad state with a school inside the grounds and horrible odors from the Mehrab area.
With the raza and doa of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS had first started the Faiz al Mawaid al Burhaniyah in Misr years ago, and now in all over the World wherever Dawoodi Bohra resides.

- Syedna Aaliqadr Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS will be the first among Doats to have name ‘Mufaddal’.
- Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS is having the laqab ‘Saifuddin’, which is also of Syedna Abdeali ‘Saifuddin’ RA (43rd Dai Al-Mutlaq).
- Syedna Abdeali Saifuddin RA was the first among Doats with the laqab ‘Saifuddin’ and from them the 10th is Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS.
- After the 100 years of Syedna Abdeali Saifuddin RA (wafaat 1232H), Syedna Taher Saifuddin RA became Dai Al-Mutlaq(in 1333). And after that in the 100th year (1432H) Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA proclaimed nass on Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS.
